Spaten, a Munich brewery dates back to 1397, and while it has changed a bit since then, thanks to Reinheitsgebot, or the German Beer Purity Law, you know it is still great beer.  The logo, a Spade, symbolizes a malt shovel.Gabriel Sedlmayr’s initials are on either side of the spade. Sedlmayr was the  brewmaster and became owner 1807 . The secret to drinking from a beer boot is to point the toe sideways. If the toe is pointed down, the boot won’t easily empty. If the toe is pointed up, the beer pours out of the boot quickly spilling.
